Some of these are not open access, so I am happy to have the version I sent you uploaded. Can I
do this, or are you able to?

Many thanks,

James

Hi James,

Ive taken a look at the current licence to publish from the British Journal of Cancer (attached here)
and have seen as you said that your article on BJC is open access and licensed for reuse via Creative
Commons BY-NC-SA 3.0. This means that the paper can be included in your e-thesis to be archived in
CORA.

If you would like to include the other articles listed in your Publications page I can check their policies
too.

Hi Breeda,

Thanks for that. One point of clarity. In my thesis, my first results chapter was submitted as a
publication, and I used the published article from British Journal of Cancer. I never prepared
this chapter as text only. The paper is open access and freely available online, but do you think
this would prevent the thesis from being displayed in Cora?

See page 59-65 of attached thesis.

With best regards,

James

Hi James,

Many thanks for registering with CORA and sending on your e-thesis. As there is a workflow for PhD
candidates in CORA with respect to thesis submission, it will be more convenient for you to agree to
deposit your e-thesis in CORA using the following online form.

https://booleweb.ucc.ie/forms/DoctoralThesesDigitisationProject.php

Once you have completed this form, we will be able to archive the pdf copy you sent us. If the
electronic copy includes the published versions of your publications, it is unlikely that the publisher
would permit the published version to be uploaded to CORA. The placeholder page in your pdf with
bibliographical references to your publications is ideal.

Best regards,
Breeda

Hi Breeda,

I came across the CORA website and I think is an excellent initiative. I noticed that you are
able to accept electronic copies of PhD theses. I completed my PhD in UCC in 2003 under
the supervision of Professor Tom Cotter and I have an electronic pdf copy of the final
accepted thesis which I have attached here. I would be happy if you could include this in the
online repository. I also have an electronic version with all publications in an appendix. If
you would prefer that format, you can let me know.

With best regards,

James
