| dc.description.abstract | This poster presents a framework for ensuring ethical integrity in AI-enhanced academic assessments through inclusive design methods. The authors address the critical challenge of maintaining academic integrity while fostering developmental education approaches in the rapidly evolving digital era. The study demonstrates how integrating authenticity in assessment creation and enhancing student engagement can effectively mitigate risks associated with AI tools like ChatGPT, Bard, and Microsoft Copilot. Through a student partnership model that positions learners as co-creators of authentic assessments, the research shows significant improvements: 88% initial basic understanding of Turnitin, 100% post-demonstration confidence, 82% agreement that Turnitin ensures academic integrity, and 70% valuing it for feedback provision. The framework emphasizes three key changes: lower weighting of multiple-choice questions, integration of WhatsApp/media assignments, and incorporation of current newspaper/article reviews. The approach successfully aligns teaching strategies with UCC's Connected Curriculum, emphasising academic integrity in digital learning while adapting to AI advancements through inclusive assessment design, transformative student learning, and nurturing lifelong learners. | en |
