Analyses the provisions of the Irish Civil Partnership Bill 2009 relating to succession and civil partnership and qualified cohabitants. Suggests that the Bill discriminates against civil partners by failing to address the question of adoption and in respect of the legal right share and the question of entitlement on intestacy. Comments on the redress scheme for cohabitants where the relationship ends prior to death and where the relationship is ended by death and questions the manner in which the Bill attempts to protect the rights of a a surviving spouse or civil partner from an application by a qualified cohabitant.
