This project researched the concept of the Community Reinforcement Approach (CRA) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and used secondary research in the form of an international literature review, to explore its links to the re-integration of those who have offending behaviours and/or substance use issues. To achieve this, the researcher researched the best practice guidelines internationally when working with those who have offending behaviours and/or substance use issues and the positive impact that engaging in CBT and CRA can have on their rehabilitation and re-integration into the community. Based on this, a number of recommendations have been made which hope to inform both policy and social work practice going forward.en
