Abstract
Climate change presents significant health challenges. As part of a wider research project, HIA-IM, a Health Impact Assessment (HIA) was undertaken on the policy objective to expand Ireland's organic sector. This policy objective is detailed in the agricultural chapter of the 2024 Climate Action Plan. At the time that the HIA was being planned and undertaken, the 2024 Climate Action Plan was the most recent one published. The purpose of the HIA was to assess the potential positive, negative and unintended health impacts stemming from the policy objective on farmer's livelihoods.
