| dc.description.abstract | This paper synthesises prior research on GenAI in the creative industries using the People, Process, and Technology (PPT) framework to examine perceptions, changes to existing workflows, and technical capabilities and constraints. Literature indicates that authors generally resist GenAI due to concerns about labour displacement and disruption of the creative process, while some publishers have adopted GenAI to automate or assist with non-creative tasks. While GenAI has the capability to reshape existing workflows and create new roles, technical risks such as bias, plagiarism, and copyright concerns further constrain its adoption. This paper presents a scoping literature review and aims to identify empirical, methodological and conceptual gaps in existing literature, particularly in terms of gatekeeping roles such as literary agents and acquisition editors, whose impacts remain underexamined. From these gaps a future research agenda is set out for exploring the impact of GenAI on the literary industry and creative industries. | en |
