Discusses issues which might arise, by reason of the inclusion of the words "without words of limitation, or any equivalent expression" in the Law of Property Act 1925 s.60(1), in relation to the passing of a fee simple in inter vivos conveyances. Examines the provenance of s.60(1) by reference to major influences on its drafting and the light they shed regarding how the subsection is to be interpreted, namely the Wills Act 1836 s.28 and a recommendation in the 1911 Report of the Commissioners on the Land Transfer Acts. Legislation cited: Law of Property Act 1925 (c.20)s.60; Wills Act 1837 (c.26)s.28en
