Abstract
Research on freedom of association in Japan is scant. While it discusses freedom of expression in approximately forty pages, the most famous textbook on the Constitutional Law in Japan, written by Nobuyoshi Ashibe, tackles freedom of association in only one and a half pages. There is no title “freedom of association” in the major brief casebook of the Constitutional Law.
