Abstract
Associational life lies at the heart of our human experience. It concerns the ways in which individuals forge bonds, build societies, and act in concert towards shared goals. When law seeks to regulate and protect these dimensions of social life, it is confronted with a complex terrain as associational life unfolds within a space where the boundaries between individual and collective, formal and informal, legal and social, are often porous and fluid. Legal systems across jurisdictions are tasked with navigating not only this complex space but also the cultural, political, and social particularities that characterise each context.
