Towards an intersectoral all-island network for circular bioeconomy entrepreneurship
(University College Cork, 2025) Reynolds, Orlagh; Irish Research Council
This report presents findings from an all-island study exploring opportunities, challenges, and collaborative pathways for inclusive circular bioeconomy entrepreneurship. Funded by the Irish Research Council under the New Foundations scheme and developed in partnership with the Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute (AFBI) and Ulster University, the project supports policy development for an inclusive and sustainable bioeconomy transition aligned with key national and EU priorities. Findings are based on 15 interviews and an intersectoral workshop with circular bioeconomy entrepreneurs working across Ireland. Despite policy commitments in both jurisdictions to enhanced entrepreneurial action, significant challenges remain.
