Abstract
This first bilingual issue of Scenario, in which the French language is given a prominent place, provides an opportunity to reflect on performative practices in language teaching and learning in France. After supplying general information on the French education system and giving an overview of the role of arts education in the curriculum, we explore the 'enactive-performative' (Joëlle Aden) and 'choreographic' (Jean-Rémi Lapaire) approaches to language education, which we have been promoting for the last 20 years in our respective arts, education, and research communities. We close with a presentation of the 6 articles selected for this special issue.
